ABOUT KAT

Kat Mei Zhou, also known as 摚玫, is a PhD student at the University of Oxford pondering resistance, labor, and geographies of artificial intelligence. Occasionally, she is an international speaker on design and tech ethics. Some things she likes: engaging in direct action; exploring how to <Design Ethically>; being in a union; creating cozy spaces for people to rest; biking around with her adopted husky; destigmatizing pole dance and sex work; reading hella books. Kat’s “fun facts” for forced icebreakers are: she was an extra on the worst-rated season of House of Cards; she performed piano in NYC’s Carnegie Hall; she’s lived in four countries.
