ABOUT KAT

Kat Mei Zhou, also known as 摚玫, is a PhD student at the University of Oxford pondering resistance, labor, and the geographies of artificial intelligence. Occasionally, she is an international speaker on design and tech ethics. Some things she likes: engaging in direct action; exploring how to <Design Ethically>; being in a union; creating cozy spaces for people to rest; biking around with her adopted husky; advocating for the decriminalization of sex work; reading hella books. Kat’s “fun facts” for forced icebreakers are: she was an extra on the worst-rated season of House of Cards; she performed piano in NYC’s Carnegie Hall; she’s lived in four countries.
